按照国家文物局《关于四川省2018年度全国重点文物保护单位文物保护项目（不含安防消防防雷）计划的批复》（文物保函〔2017〕1398号），乐山大佛景区于2018年10月8日开始封闭九曲栈道，正式实施乐山大佛胸腹部开裂残损区域抢救性保护前期研究及勘测工作。按照勘测工作进度，2018年12月15日起脚手架将搭建至大佛头部区域。

According to the National Cultural Relics Bureau's reply on The 2018 National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit Cultural Relics Protection Project of Sichuan(excluding Security and Safety Precaution, Fire Control and Lightning Protection (the Letter of Guarantee of the Cultural Relics [2017], NO.1398), Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area closed the zigzag plank road on Oct. 8th, 2018, and formally carried out preliminary study and survey work on the rescue and protection of chest and abdomen cracking and damages in Leshan Giant Buddha. According to the progress of the survey, the scaffoldings will be built up to the head of the Buddha on Dec.15th, 2018.

为弥补游客朋友不能看到乐山大佛全貌的遗憾，根据工作计划，乐山大佛景区将配合前期开展的＂见证大佛保护＂系列活动，从2018年12月10日起推出游山票、游江票半价优惠政策，具体如下：
